1972 XS650 Bobber Black

This is the way i got it.. just box’s of junk and old parts.

nice and crusty….

grinding and welding old frame

Really cool oil can – will be used for electrical box and ignition switch

Got my new chrome DNA springer…

new 80 spoke wheel

80 spoke front 21″ wheel and springer installed…

Making rear fender mounts and seat shock mockup

Polishing rear brake and wheel hub, NEW rear 18″ hoop about to get laced up

done

 

Cleaning, polishing, painting and rebuilding engine…


NEW Stainless valves

 

priming and painting all the parts

 

 

Also forgot to mention i had to make some foot peg mounts and a rear brake pedal mount/pivot

Re-assemble time…

Welded a cool pedal to the end of the kicker

Ignition and wiring in oil tank

made battery hold down

made some rear fender struts

left cover got a solid polished alternator cover

Hi output coil and wires

side plate and light all wires run through frame where possible.

Exhaust fitting

done!

NOTE: seat shocks were used for mock-up – bike has new ChopperShox seat shocks installed.

    Was it a stock sportster tank? It’s pretty short and fits the bike well.

    • Yes, a stock sportster tank with mounting tabs modified to fit the frame. Glad you like it.
