1979 KZ 400 Bobber


Here are some build pics on this little KZ project…

here is the dirty little rat… really a hack job.. dirty and barely ran..




the tear down

made new rear brake caliper mount, put it on the bottom to clean up the top of the frame.

made new cross bar for the seat shocks…


made a spring loaded chain tensioner

bare and clean… ready for paint


all back together…

finally added the ammo can/battery holder

    Great looking bobber, Just a question regarding the frame, is any part of it from the original bike? For example did you cut up the original frame and then added the rear section? Or is it a completely new frame and you added the kz400 parts ?

      Front part is the same, back half is a rigid but the frame was bought like this so no idea where it came from.

    Do you know anything on how much of a stretch it has on the hardtail?

      Not exactly sure, it was a while ago. But at least 4″
